After we continued our tour of this enormous camp, we ended up Ina children's barrack. There we told the story of group of children being held there on the first day of Rosh Hashanah on the way to the gas chambers. They begged their Rebbi, Rabbi Miesels to blow shofar for them. After at great personal risk he blew for them they begged him to say Kiddush for them. But even that was not enough for their starving souls. He then led them in Mincha. As we remembered their last Mincha on that Rosh Hashanah, we prayed as they would have in the special Rosh Hashanah tune.
This was a very moving and inspiring Tefilla. Hopefully just one of many. We are now in Krakow at a panel of the survivors. I know everyone will enjoy this unique opportunity.
